LH-2 CALLS IN ROLLOVER ON MERRITT
 
6/27/06- While traveling southbound on the Merritt Parkway, LH-2 saw a vehicle in the northbound lanes in a high speed roll.  LH-2 immediately called in the accident and turned around at the next exit.  Upon arrival, he found a Cadillac limousine on the grass, heavily damaged, with no entrapment.  Rescue 200 stabilized the vehicle, and awaited the wrecker.  Trumbull Center E-103 provided traffic support.

LONG HILL RUNS MUTUAL AID FOR DUMPSTER FIRE
6/13/06- At 12:50, Long Hill was dispatched to Red Maple Road to assist Trumbull Center in extinguishing a fully involved dumpster fire.  Squad 209 responded and assisted Trumbull Center E-102 and E-103 in extinguishment and overhaul.  TC Car 1 was first on scene and was command.  (Photo courtesy of Robert Stritch)

AFA TURNED SMOKE CONDITION IN BENNIGAN'S
 
6/6/06- At approximately 0830 Long Hill, Trumbull Center and Nichols were dispatched to The Trumbull Mall at Bennigan's for an automatic fire alarm. First arriving Units reported a moderate smoke condition inside the building but no visible fire. Units continued their investigation and found a fire in a motor on a rooftop Air handling unit. Units checked for extension, found none, ventilated the restaurant, and returned to service.

INDIVIDUALS HONORED AT 5th ANNUAL AWARDS DINNER
 
 6/03/06- The 5th Annual Awards dinner took place at the Stone Barn Restaurant in Monroe.  Fire department individuals were honored for their achievements in the past year.  Awards were handed out for Top Responders, Top Drill Attendance, and Top Activities Attendance for the 2005 year, as well as a Unit Citation for a Mass Casualty Motor Vehicle Accident that occurred in June of last year. PORTERS HILL ROAD EXTRICATION

 

 

6/02/06- Long Hill was dispatched Mutual aid to Trumbull Center for a reported Motor Vehicle Accident with Extrication. LH-1 and Rescue 200 responded with Trumbull Center units and found a two car head on collision with a single occupant trapped. Rescue 200 with assistance from Trumbull Center units extricated the victim in under 10 minutes. Long Hill returned to service shortly thereafter. ( Photo courtesy of Andrew Weber )

LONG HILL ASSISTS TC WITH EGG DROP

6/02/06- Long Hill was asked to assist the Trumbull Center Fire Department with the annual Daniels Farm School egg drop. Each class within the school designs special containers to protect an egg from a fall of 60+ feet. Ladder 204 assisted with dropping the containers from the bucket. Congratulations to all the classes that succeeded in their goal. (Photo Courtesy of Robert Stritch)
