CAR vs. TREE ON CHURCH HILL ROAD
12/31/2007- At 12:22 hrs, Long Hill and Trumbull Center were called to Church Hill Road & Old Church Hill Road for the reported Car vs. Tree. Rescue 200, Squad 209, Engine 103, TC Car 4, LH-1 & LH-2 responded, assisted Trumbull EMS with patient removal and handled a minor fluid spill.
TRUMBULL CENTER & LONG HILL EXTINGUISH HANDICAP VANS
12/22/2007- At 4:30 hours, Trumbull Center and Long Hill responded to Cambridge Drive for the reported vans on fire. Trumbull Car 3 was first on scene and reported multiple handicap vans on fire. Crews from Engine 103 and Squad 209 worked to extinguish the fire. Tower 104 assisted with manpower. 6 vans were a total loss, with heavy fire and damage to an additional 6 vans. Engine 206 was requested for manpower but was later assigned to Trumbull Center Station 1 for town coverage. Also on scene were Trumbull Car 4, LH-1, FM-1, FM-3 and the CT State Police Fire Marshals. 6th ANNUAL FILL-A-FIRETRUCK TOY DRIVE
SMOKE IN SHOPPING PARK CAUSES EVACUATION & HEAVY TRAFFIC
12/15/2007- At 15:26 hrs, Long Hill was dispatched to the Westfield Shoppingtown for the activated fire alarm. LH-1, LH-2, Squad 209, Engine 202, and Tower-Ladder 204 took in the assignment. Prior to arrival, units were given an update from dispatch that police on scene were reporting a smoke condition in Steve & Berry's clothing store. Based on the report, LH-1 special called Trumbull Center and Nichols for mutual aid. Tower 104, Engine 301, Nichols Car 1 & 2 as well as Engine 206 and Rescue 200 responded. Crews checked the store, surrounding stores and rooftops trying to find the cause of the smoke condition. The cause was determined to be a motor in a HVAC unit in the ceiling of the store.
The alarm caused an evacuation of the mall. Due to holiday shopping this created a large traffic problem due to a high volume of people trying to leave the mall property at once. Trumbull PD re-routed traffic to try to deal with this situation. Units clearing from the scene had a difficult time returning to their stations.
CAR DRIVES INTO BANK AT QUALITY STREET SHOPPING CENTER
12/15/2007- At 12:20 hrs, Long Hill was dispatched to the Chase Bank in the Quality Street Shopping Plaza for the car into the building. LH-1, LH-2 and Squad 209 responded to handle a fluid spill and vehicle stabilization. The building's integrity was not affected by the accident.

SANTA DELIVERED TO TOWN HALL TREE LIGHTING
12/9/2007- Santa made a grand entrance to this years annual Town Hall Tree Lighting Ceremony. The procession started at Long Hill Station #1 and included a Trumbull Police motorcycle escort, a decorated Engine 301 from Nichols, Tower 104 from Trumbull Center, a decorated Ambulance from Trumbull EMS, Engine 206 and finally Satellite 203 with Santa on board. TRAINING HOUSE BURNED TO THE GROUND
12/9/2007- At 09:00, the flare was lit and the house started to burn. By 10:20, all that was left was a foundation. After weeks of use as a training house, Long Hill, Trumbull Center & Nichols conducted a controlled burn on Main Street prior to Route 25. The house was to be torn down and was donated to the fire departments to use for training.
RESCUE 200 ASSISTS TRUMBULL CENTER WITH ACCIDENT
12/6/2007- At 19:10, Trumbull Center and Long Hill were dispatched to Edison Road at Richards Place for the motor vehicle accident with extrication. Rescue 200 and LH-1 responded and were tasked with stabilizing the 2nd vehicle while TC units were working to extricate the single victim from the rolled over SUV. R-200 handled a fluid spill and disconnected the battery to the 2nd vehicle. They were back in service in under an hour.
ONE EXTRICATED FROM CAR vs. TREE
12/2/2007- At 16:53, Long Hill was dispatched to Stone House Road for the reported car vs. tree with entrapment. Rescue 200 was first to arrive to find an SUV that had hit a very large tree on the driver's side door. R-200's crew removed the victim through the passenger side of the vehicle and handed the driver off to Trumbull EMS. LH-13 was command.
CAR SOARS INTO TREES ON ROUTE 25
12/2/2007- At 3:19, Long Hill and Trumbull Center were dispatched to Route 25 southbound before exit 9 for the motor vehicle accident/rollover with possible extrication. Trumbull Car 2 was first on scene and reported a single occupant ejected. Upon further investigation it was unknown if there were additional passengers. Crews from Rescue 100, Rescue 200, Engine 205 & Squad 209 canvassed the area with the use of thermal imaging cameras to attempt to locate any additional passengers. No additional passengers were found. The ejected victim was transported to the hospital by Trumbull EMS. R-200 and S-209 stood by on scene for the wrecker.
