CAR FIRE EXTENDS TO TRAILER ON SPRING HILL ROAD

 

10/20/2008- At 16:33 hrs, Long Hill & Trumbull Center were called to a car fire in the rear of a Spring Hill Road residence. LH-22 was first on scene and reported a car, a trailer, a truck cab, & the surrounding brush on fire. Engine 206 & Squad 209 extinguished the fire with the help of Engine 103. LH-22 had Spring Hill Command.

 


 

PUBLIC SAFETY DAY AT THE WESTFIELD MALL

 

10/11/2008- Today members from Long Hill attended the 3rd annual Public Safety Day hosted by Westfield Shopping Town of Trumbull. From 10am-3pm, Squad 209 and Gator 1 from Long Hill spoke with 100's of adults and children about fire safety, what firefighters in Trumbull do and showed off some equipment. Spectators were also treated to a mock extrication demonstration and watched as 209's crew removed the driver's side doors and roof of the vehicle. Other services on hand included Trumbull Center & Nichols Fire Dept, Trumbull Police Dept & dive team, Bridgeport & State Police, Trumbull, Bridgeport and Fairfield County's Command Trailers and the Southwest Regional Emergency Response Team and equipment. Eagle 1 also landed in the parking lot.
 


 

CAR vs. HOUSE ON ELLIOTT ROAD WITH ENTRAPMENT

 

10/10/2008- At 10:56 hrs, Long Hill, Trumbull Center & Nichols  were dispatched to Elliott Road for a Car vs. House, with Extrication.  LH-3 was first on scene and confirmed the report of extrication with 1 victim trapped.  Crews from Rescue 200 & Satellite 203 worked to extricate the victim. Squad 209 stretched a hoseline for protection and the additional members assisted with the extrication. Engine 103 & Rescue 300 also assisted with the operation. The occupant was transported by Trumbull EMS.  Other units on scene included Tower-Ladder 204, Truck 303 & Nichols Car 1&3.  LH-21 had operations and LH-3 had command.

RESCUE & SQUAD HANDLE FLUID SPILL ON MAIN STREET

 

10/7/2008- At 13:07 hrs, Long Hill  was alerted to the intersection of Route 111 & Broadway Rd for the MVA/Fluid Spill. Rescue 200 arrived first to find a 2 car accident with fluids down on the ground draining into a nearby storm drain. R-200 mitigated the spilled fluids. Squad 209 assisted with disconnecting the batteries on both vehicles. LH-32 had command. (Photo courtesy of F. Novak)

MIDNIGHT EXTRICATION ON THE MERRITT

 

10/3/2008- At 00:01 hrs, Long Hill, Trumbull Center & Nichols were dispatched to Route 15 Northbound between exits 48 & 49 for a MVA/Extrication.  Trumbull Car 3 was first to arrive and confirmed a single vehicle on its roof with the driver trapped.  Crews from Rescue 200, Engine 205 & Squad 209 worked to stabilize the vehicle & remove the victim.  The occupant was transported to the hospital by Trumbull EMS.  Other crews responding included LH-1, LH-4, TC Car 2, E-102 & R-300.  LH-1 had command.
