. APRIL '09 NEWS MONROE CALLS FOR ASSISTANCE AT BRUSH FIRE
4/25/2009- At 13:59hrs, Long Hill was dispatched to Turkey Roost Road in Monroe to assist with a large brush fire. Engine 206, LH-2 & the Gator, LH-1 & LH-4 responded. E-206 was directed to a fill site to fill tanker trucks while the other units assisted in bringing the brush fire under control. Units were clear in under 2 hours.
MVA ROLLOVER WITH ENTRAPMENT
4/11/2009- Long Hill was dispatched along with Trumbull Center and Nichols to route 15 North Bound prior to Exit 49 for the MVA Rollover w/entrapment. LH-3 was first on scene and confirmed the initial report of a car on it's roof with 1 person trapped. E-205's crew arrived and stretched a line while S-209's crew assisted with the line and started stabilization. R-200 arrived and began to stabilize the vehicle with rescue struts. Engine 103 arrived assisted R-200's crew with stabilization. The vehicle was tied off to the front of R-200 since it was on the edge of the highway embankment. Once the vehicle was stable FD personnel assisted Trumbull EMS and Nelson Ambulance with removal of the patient.
