NEW RESCUE UPDATED PICS

 

4/28/2010- The new Rescue 200 is in the later stages of production and the body has been painted.  The replacement truck is being manufactured by Marion Body Works located in Marion, WI.  We will post more pictures and info as we receive it from the manufacturer. BRUSH FIRE ON ACADEMY ROAD

 

4/26/2010- At 13:29hrs, Long Hill was dispatched to Academy Road for the reported brush fire. Units from Squad 209, Engine 205 & Engine 202 extinguished a 100x100 brush fire with the shed involved.  LH-4 was command and FM-1 responded as well.
 


 

LONG HILL PARTICIPATES IN REGIONAL WATER SUPPLY DRILL

 

4/11/2010- This morning, Trumbull played host to an Inter-Region Water Supply Drill.  The purpose of the drill is to call upon area departments to create and sustain a water supply at a simulated incident.  The drill featured 110 firefighters from 21 Fire Departments from Fairfield, New Haven and Litchfield Counties that brought 15 Tankers, 6 Engines, 3 Ladders, 1 Hose Wagon, 1 Field Communications Unit & 1 Field Kitchen / Canteen Unit.  All these firefighters and equipment were able to flow approximately 480,000 gallons for 2 hours (just about 4000gpm). Thank you to Region 1 Coordinator Lt. Mike Kronick for putting together the drill.

 

 


 

CHIEF SCHALICH MADE HONORARY MEMBER OF LONG HILL

 

4/6/2010- Tonight, the members of the Long Hill Volunteer Fire Company #1 Inc. honored Past Chief Wayne Schalich at their company meeting at Meadow Rd Hall. Chief Peter Rousso gave a brief speech thanking Past Chief Schalich and President Frank Novak presented him with a plaque on behalf of the members. Past Chief Schalich served as Chief of the Trumbull Volunteer Fire Company #1 Inc. for the past 18 years.

 


 

ENGINE 206 RUNS MUTUAL AID TO MONROE FIRE

 

4/1/2010- At 20:01hrs, Long Hill Engine 206 was requested for mutual aid to a Stepney FD structure fire on Old Colony Road. E-206 and LH-1 responded directly to the scene to assist. When the engine company arrived, the Monroe Fire Depts. had the bulk of the fire knocked down. E-206's crew assisted with overhaul in the structure. Long Hill 206 was back in service by 22:00hrs.
