THE SQUAD COVERS EASTON

 

2/10/2010- At 1421hrs, Easton FD requested mutual aid engines from Long Hill and Trumbull Center to stand by at Easton Fire Headquarters while they were operating at the scene of a structure fire on Stepney Rd. Squad 209 and Engine 103 responded and stood by at Easton HQ. LH-3 responded as well. Both units did not respond to any calls while on stand by and returned around 1800hrs.

 


 

BUSY FRIDAY IN TRUMBULL

 

2/5/2010- At 1020hrs, Nichols, Trumbull Center and Long Hill were dispatched to Merritt Blvd (Unilever) for an activated fire alarm. Units responding were updated that a chemical reaction had occurred causing a small explosion/flash fire that resulted in 1 person being burned. There was a smoke condition upon arrival and the units worked to clear the area.

At 1512hrs, Trumbull Center,
Nichols and Long Hill were called to the area of Greenwood Rd and Wesley Dr. to meet the Trumbull Police Department. Trumbull PD was beginning a search for a missing Norwalk man who's vehicle was found in the area. LH-3, Squad 209, and Truck 208 with Gator 1 in tow responded and assisted in the search. All 3 departments assisted in the search until it was called off at dusk. LH-2 had command with multiple units operating on scene.

At 1623hrs, while still assisting in the search, Long Hill was alerted to Plumtree Lane for smoke in the house. Engine 202 responded and found smoke in the structure from burnt food on the stove. LH-3 had command.

At 1731hrs, Trumbull Center and Long Hill were called to the intersection of Edison Rd. and Jerome Ave. for the motor vehicle accident with extrication. TC-1 arrived and found one vehicle that needed a door pop. Rescue 100 handled and Rescue 200 stood by on scene. TC-1 had command.
