GOOD LUCK LT. SANFANANDRE

 

1/15/2010- Tonight the Long Hill Fire Department held a dinner event for Lieutenant Greg SanFanAndre. Lt. SanFanAndre will be leaving on Tuesday January 19th to attend boot camp for the National Guard. Greg will travel to Fort Sill in Oklahoma for his basic training and then on to Fort Sam Houston where he will focus on his specific job which will be Combat Medic. He will return from his training sometime this summer. Lt. SanFanAndre's unit is based out of New Haven, CT and they are currently deployed in Iraq. From all your friends & family in the Long Hill FD, good luck Lieutenant! We can't wait to have you back!

 


 

LONG HILL PROVIDES RIT TO MOOSE HILL ROAD FIRE


1/13/2010- At 0923hrs, Trumbull Center,
Nichols & Long Hill as RIT were dispatched to Moose Hill Road for a reported structure fire. LH-2 arrived and reported smoke showing from a 2 story wood. The first Engine in stretched a line to the front and found a fire on the porch with extension into the house. The fire was quickly knocked down and companies checked for extension and ventilated. Red Cross was notified to assist the occupants of the residence. Units on scene- E-101, E-103, T-104, S-109, E-301, Q-301, NC2, L-204, LH-2 (command)

 


 

LAKE AVENUE DRYER FIRE


1/11/2010- At 16:43hrs, Long Hill and Trumbull Center were dispatched to Lake Ave for smoke in the basement. LH-3 arrived with a report from PD of smoke in the basement. Squad 209 investigated and found heavy smoke banked down to the floor with a working dryer fire in the basement. The fire was able to be knocked down with a couple of extinguishers. Additional companies checked for extension and ventilated the house. EMS checked out the occupants for smoke inhalation, but no transport was needed. Units on scene- LH-2, LH-3, Engine 206, Engine 205, Squad 209, Tower 104
 


 

BROADWAY ROAD FIRE


1/09/2010- At 13:10hrs, Long Hill, Trumbull Center &
Nichols as RIT were dispatched to 162 Broadway Rd for a structure fire. LH-1 arrived first and reported smoke showing. Engine 101 arrived and hit the hydrant & stretched a line into the house with the crew from Engine 206. Interior crews found a small fire in the basement. The fire was quickly extinguished and crews from Ladder-Tower 204 & Squad 209 checked for extension. No injuries reported.

 


 

ROUTE 25 & 111 CAR FIRE

 

1/8/2010- Long Hill was dispatched to the intersection of RT.25 & RT.111 for a car fire. LH-3, Rescue 200, Engine 205, and Squad 209 responded. Dispatched updated LH-3 that this was a car fire as a result of an MVA. LH-3 arrived first and confirmed heavy fire in the engine compartment with no entrapment. R-200 arrived and knocked down the fire. E-205 and S-209 assisted R-200 with overhaul and were both released a short time later. R-200 remained on scene for the Police Department to investigate the scene. (Photo courtesy of A. Rauso)
