. JANUARY '11 NEWS 3RD STRUCTURE FIRE IN THE WEEK ON TUDOR LANE
1/28/2011- At 17:20hrs, Long Hill was dispatched to 35 Tudor Lane for the structure fire. While in route, units were updated that an occupant was possibly still inside. LH-3 (Command) arrived first and reported a 3500 sq ft home with heavy smoke pushing from the roof, with fire visible from the number 2 floor. He also reported all occupants out of the home. Engine 206 arrived and stretched a 2 ½” line to the front, while Ladder 204 made entry through the rear of the structure. At this time, fire was visible through the roof. Both E-206 and L-204 made the initial attack on the fire. A back-up line was put into operation as well to assist the first due companies extinguish the heavy fire in the attic. The units were able to knock down the bulk of the fire in about 15 minutes. Extensive overhaul was completed and units remained on scene to assist the Fire Marshal’s Office with their investigation and extinguish any hot spots. LH-2 was Operations. Shelton and Monroe tankers were dispatched and remained on scene for about an hour. The tankers were dispatched as a precaution and remained on scene for manpower. (Photo Courtesy of FM Office)

LONG HILL AIDES IN TRUMBULL CENTER STRUCTURE FIRE
1/25/2011- At 16:00hrs, Long Hill was dispatched as mutual aid to 119 Aspen Lane in Trumbull Center ’s district for a structure fire. Engine 206 responded along with LH-3. LH-3 arrived and reported a 3000 sq. ft home with smoke showing from the rear of the structure. E-206 stretched a hose line through the garage and found fire in the basement. The fire was extinguished quickly and units from Long Hill and Trumbull Center completed overhaul. The under control was given in about 20 minutes. STRUCTURE FIRE ON COTTONTAIL
1/24/2011- At 15:30hrs, Long Hill, Trumbull Center and Nichols were dispatched to 35 Corporate Drive for an activated fire alarm. While in route, TRDC dispatched units to 36 Cotton Tail Trail for a structure fire. Units were redirected to the fire. LH-3 (command) arrived and reported heavy smoke from the second floor and attic from a two story colonial. Engine 206 arrived and stretched a hose to the front door to make the initial attack on the fire in the attic. They were assisted by Tower 104’s crew. Rescue 200’s crew took a second line to the first floor and extinguished the fire on the exterior in the rear of the home. Engine 101 and Quint 303 arrived and assisted with additional hose lines and ventilation. Squad 209 established water supply. The fire was knocked down in about 20 minutes and under control in about an hour.
